Friendly Reminder: You’re the creator of your own path

Do you ever want to throw a shoe at the world for expecting you to work all the freaking time?

Here’s a life giving friendly reminder that entrepreneurs (myself included) keep forgetting: as the owner, you don’t have to follow the rules. You make them.

I’m astounded at how easily I can slip back into herd mode with my business and expectations of myself. That factory worker conditioning is potent!

You know what happens when I do this?

I slide into that grimy downward spiral of comparison, where I want to punish myself for not being an overnight sensation like all the others on Instagram.

But …it always comes back to me (even if it’s just a whisper): you don’t have to follow. You get to run your business however you want babe.

Because standing out?

AI can’t do that for you. You being the most YOU version of you will separate you from everyone else. And that’s the work I’ve been doing. Finding my own way, on my terms, by being ME.

I spent my career using data to help companies grow- and it bugged me how much intuition was villainized.

Here’s what I’m learning as a business owner: Our gut, our intuition is our super power.

In fact, I’m leaning harder into my intuition than ever before. Trust in ourselves is imperative as owners.

Now? Data, tech, etc have a new role in my life: to guide me and be the numbers backed confidence booster for my intuition.

The 6 Questions That Awaken Your Inner Creative

Let’s boost your inner creative powers with 6 questions that I use in my own business to help me suss out what I truly want, from what the world tells me I’m supposed to want.

Ideally – repeat every day for a week

The goal: get clear about what you really want so you can create your specific business’s success path.

Time: ~ 15 minutes | Supplies: Paper, Pen

*If you tend to overthink – try exercising, walking, dancing, or shaking right before doing these to connect to your body.

The Creative Awakening Questions:

1. What do you deeply desire right now when it comes to your business – and how would receiving it make you feel? You’ll know it’s a real desire when you feel it inside your body. 

2. If you had to rate how present your are in the business right now from 1-10 – how connected and present are you? What are you feeling about it?

3. What would need to happen/be present for you to show up as a 10 for your business? 

4. What would a business that’s performing at a 10 look like to you? What would you be doing?

5. What’s one thing you could do this month to move closer to what you really desire and want for your business?

6. What are some new ideas that could get you there without spending more money (a call to get resourceful and use what you have right now)
